Texas REP Seeks To Be Relieved Of POLR Obligation Given Sale Of Customers

June 07,2018

Hino Electric Power Company, which as previously reported recently sold a book of customers to Cirro Energy (NRG), petitioned the Texas PUC to relieve Hino of its requirement to provide POLR service.

Hino had been designated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas as a Provider of Last Resort for the residential class of service in the AEP Central service area on October 6, 2016.

In its petition, Hino stated, "Hino has transferred its customers pursuant to an acquisition and no longer serves any customers. Hino is not actively marketing to or enrolling customers and no longer meets the eligibility requirements to provide POLR service."
