Brokers, Retail Suppliers To Be Subject To Fine For Failure To File Annual Reports
June 07,2018
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio issued a notice that over 100 entities, including at least two retail suppliers and dozens of brokers, have failed to file a 2017 annual report for fiscal assessment
PUCO stated an intent to assess on each non-filing company a civil forfeiture of $1,000
However, PUCO granted such companies until July 6, 2018 to file the reports, noting that this is the first year in which regulated entities were required to register for access and file an annual report using the new, web-based PUCO Community
Those regulated entities that do not file by the July 6,2018 deadline will be in noncompliance of a Commission directive and assessed a forfeiture pursuant to R.C. 4905.54. Such forfeiture would be in addition to any amounts owed to the Commission.
