Clickbait: BBC Says "Google Launches Solar Power Service In UK"

May 31,2018

Market observers may have been excited upon seeing a May 30 headline from the BBC stating, "Google launches solar power service in UK."

However, the "service" is not retail electric supply, nor even the provision of distributed solar.

Rather, the headline refers to the roll-out in the UK of Google's Project Sunroof tool which estimates solar savings, and, as previously reported, was previously launched in the U.S.
