Lubbock Power & Light Readies To Deploy Smart Meters

Lubbock Power & Light is set to begin the process of installing advanced meters in its service area as its board and City Council consider contracts associated with the deployment, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports

Installation is scheduled to begin this fall

As previously reported, LP&L's board and the City Council have expressed an "intent" to adopt customer choice for about 70,000 customers that will be moved to the ERCOT territory, though a final decision on choice will be made after a study is conducted
