Pair of Retail Energy Solicitors Charged

October 15,2014

The Lockport, New York Union-Sun & Journal reports that two retail energy solicitors, "are facing charges of soliciting without a permit in the City of Lockport."

Entrust Energy, on whose behalf the agents were marketing, provided the following statement to RetailEnergyX.com:

"The agents in question unknowingly crossed over to a street on which they did not have a permit to sell. We regret that oversight and apologize to the City of Lockport. Regarding the reference [in the Union-Sun & Journal story] to a pill the agent was carrying, it is our understanding that the agent was carrying a prescribed drug and will be able to fully justify his possession of that medication to local authorities in a timely manner."
