WSJ: "Internet of Things" Seen as a Prime Source of New Revenue by Telecom Firms (Smart Home)
October 13,2014
The Wall Street Journal this morning has a piece on the battle in Europe among telecom and other providers, such as Google, Apple and Samsung, to provide the customer with connected homes, cars, and other facets of the so-called "Internet of Things"
"Telecoms are also eyeing utilities, hoping to capitalize on the market as energy regulation tightens," the WSJ reports.
"Smart homes are another battleground ... Orange -- not to be left behind by the offerings of Google, Apple, and Samsung -- will launch Homelive, incorporating applications with weather monitors, thermostats and movement detectors, later this month," the WSJ reports.
