AARP: Texas PUC Must Put "Pressure" On REPs To Pass-On TDU Tax Cut Savings, Suggests Shaming REPs

March 20,2018

In an op-ed published in the Texas Tribune's TribTalk, Bob Jackson, state director for AARP Texas, urged the Texas PUC to "pressure" retail electric providers to pass on TDU regulated rate savings from federal tax cuts to customers

"One way to help consumers would be to use the PUC’s own Power to Choose website -- www.powertochoose.org -- to list the companies that have and have not passed these savings to their customers. Once publicized, this would be one factor for consumers to consider when deciding which provider they want to do business with," Jackson wrote
