March 14,2018

While recent high power bills have drawn attention in Maine and prompted a PUC investigation at Central Maine Power, the Belfast (ME) Republican Journal reports that customers in Louisiana, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina, and North Carolina have reported similar spikes in bills

Notably, all such states do not have retail electric choice, or, in some cases, do not have effective retail electric choice due to various caps and limits
