PUC Considering Revising Confidential Treatment Rules (Retail Supplier Filings)

March 01,2018

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has instituted a proceeding to consider revisions to rules concerning the granting of confidential treatment to information filed with the Commission, which would include various retail supplier financial, ownership, and operational data made in conjunction with license applications and renewals (among other filings), due to a recent Ohio Supreme Court order

The Commission seeks comment on a proposed amendment of paragraphs (D) and (F) of Ohio Adm.Code 4901-1-24 that would require the filing of an affidavit explaining the reasons supporting confidentiality of the identified information. Additionally, the Commission also seeks comment on a proposed amendment to paragraph (E) of Ohio Adm.Code 4901-1-24 to reflect that the Commission may schedule a hearing to consider the motion for protective treatment.

A workshop was scheduled for March 9
