Maine PUC Opens Investigation Of High Bills At Utility

February 23,2018

The Maine PUC has opened a docket to investigate recent complaints about high bills at Central Maine Power, WGME reports

As previously reported, although several factors have been cited for higher bills (colder weather, increase in Standard Offer rate, longer billing cycle), at least one customer told the Portland Press Herald that their rate from a competitive retail supplier increased from about 6 cents to 10 cents.

The Maine PUC has docketed the matter as Case 2018-00052: Commission Initiated Investigation Into Metering, Billing And Customer Communications Pertaining To Central Maine Power Company
