OCC: More Than Half Of Residential Shopping Customers Paid More Than Default Service In August 2017

The Connecticut OCC published an update to its comparison of electric supplier rates and Standard Service
OCC said:
• In the month of August 2017, over five out of ten residential supplier customers paid more than the Standard Offer in Eversource territory, and eight out of ten residential supplier customers paid more than the Standard Offer in UI territory
• In the month of August 2017, residential Eversource customers who chose suppliers paid in aggregate $2,747,852.36 more than the Standard Offer for their electric generation, and residential UI customers who chose suppliers paid in aggregate $1,509,580.77 more than the Standard Offer
• For the rolling year of September 2016 through August 2017, residential consumers who chose a retail supplier paid, in aggregate, $60,624,187.28 more than the Standard Offer
