Not Again: With Polar Vortex Gone, Now It’s Summer Variable Rate Spikes Prompting Pa. Complaints

September 18,2014

WPXI 11 News, Pittsburgh, has a report stating that it, "received several calls recently about people claiming they’ve seen a sudden spike in their electric bills over the past couple of weeks."

WPXI's story focused on one customer who, in WPXI's words, was "duped" by a variable rate plan.

WPXI's report states that the customer's rate went from 6¢ to 10¢ -- modest in terms of the polar vortex, but still over a 50% increase.
