NV Energy Receives Approval to Join Western Energy Imbalance Market

August 28,2014

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada approved on August 27 NV Energy’s request to participate in the expanded Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) administered by the California ISO, which is said to automatically optimize resources across a wide geographic region and in turn reduce energy costs.

NV Energy will begin participating in the EIM starting in October 2015.

The market’s first participant, Portland-based PacifiCorp, will enter the EIM in October 2014.
