Report: FirstEnergy Solutions To Limit Muni Aggregation Sales to Ohio, Withdraw from Illinois

August 12,2014

Crain's Chicago Business reports that as part of its exit from several retail sales channels, including the mass market and mid-merit C&I market as first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, FirstEnergy Solutions is exiting the Illinois municipal aggregation market.

FirstEnergy Solutions will serve out the term of existing Illinois municipal aggregation contracts, but will not bid for new or renewal contracts in Illinois, Crain's reports.

While municipal aggregation will continue to be one of the few retail markets FES continues to serve, it will limit such sales to Ohio aggregations, Crain's reports.
