Texas Muni Schedules Open House As Result Of Choice Petition, Says Choice Not An Option While In SPP

In response to a customer petition signed by over 14,000 residents to introduce electric choice to the municipal utility (see story here), Lubbock Power and Light has scheduled two open houses to hear customer concerns, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports

However, an LP&L director said that deregulation is not an option while LP&L is a member of SPP. The muni is currently seeking to join ERCOT
