Choose Energy Releases Customer-Facing Version of Data Platform

May 30,2014

Choose Energy has released a "beta" version of a customer-facing version of its data platform concerning retail energy transactions previously made available to its suppliers.

The data includes:

1) Historical prices and predictive forward pricing based on Choose Energy platform’s history matched with EIA data for the month

2) The type of green plans people are selecting

3) Plan length popularity

4) Price / rate trends by plan length

5) Price / rate trends by utility

6) 100% coal pricing versus 100% green pricing differential over time

"The data on the platform is updated every 15 minutes and comes from the hundreds of thousands site engagements we receive every month," Choose Energy said.

Choose Energy described the initial data platform as a beta version, with further refinements forthcoming

Currently, the data is available in eight electric markets. Choose Energy will be expanding the tool to its other electricity markets in the coming months, and all of its natural gas markets will have separate reports by state as well.
