Broker Pyxis Energy has launched a new back-up power offering, called Alternative Market Power or AMP

Pyxis Energy will offer customers with an electric and gas supply broker relationship the back-up power solution, using Generac Power Systems Inc. technology, for a monthly reliability fee with no upfront cost and no maintenance responsibilities for the customer

The generators, fueled by natural gas or liquid propane, can run without restriction and will start automatically to provide backup power during power outages. Occasionally, Pyxis Energy will remotely dispatch the generator to protect against electrical grid instability or to offset extreme market conditions, the company said

Pyxis Energy retains ownership of the generator and associated micro-grid hardware for the term of the customer agreement.
