Texas Staff File Language For Narrower ERS Rule Changes (Omits Use For Local Congestion)

March 24,2017

Texas PUC Staff have filed a revised draft proposal for adoption for changes in the Emergency Response Service (ERS) rule, with the new language reflecting, as first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Commissioners' decision to not include in the rule the authority to use ERS to relieve local transmission congestion or emergencies

The ERS changes are now limited to provisions allowing ERS resources to opt-out of their ERS contract in order to participate in any ERCOT process seeking alternatives to an RMR agreement.
