Texas Retail Provider CEO: Deregulation Hasn’t Fulfilled Its Potential
March 21,2017
In a piece published by The Texas Tribune's TribTalk, Gregory Craig, CEO of start-up Texas retail provider Griddy, writes that, "deregulation hasn’t fulfilled its potential," but that with more REPs offering apps that offer customers better information on usage and pricing, Craig believes that, "Texas is on the precipice of an exciting market transformation that finally delivers on the promise of deregulation."
As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Griddy Energy is launching in Texas with a pay-as-you-go product that passes-through the 15-minute ERCOT energy price, plus other wholesale costs (ancillaries, uplift, etc.) and TDU charges, at no mark-up to residential customers, with a 49¢ per day membership fee. Otherwise, there are no other fees associated with the product. An app alerts customers to when power prices are lowest and provides updated usage and billing information
