Police: Complaints on Door-to-Door Energy Marketer Received Within Two Hours Of Granting Permits

March 21,2017

Complaints about a door-to-door independent contractor energy marketer in Leetonia, Ohio were received by police within two hours of the marketer receiving door-to-door marketing permits, with the permits then revoked the same day, WFMJ (Youngstown, OH) reports

Most of the complaints involved the door-to-door agents "demanding" to see customers' bills, police said

The agents were independent contractors selling supply from Verde Energy

Verde Energy provided the following statement to RetailEnergyX.com:

"Verde Energy is fully committed to addressing customer concerns in Ohio and everywhere we do business. We strive to maintain the highest standards of customer satisfaction, both in our marketing efforts and with those consumers who choose Verde Energy as their retail energy supplier. We apologize to those residents in Leetonia who may have had an unsatisfactory experience with one of the sales agents. Verde Energy is conducting a full investigation of the allegations made and will work with our marketing partner to ensure that our marketing activities comply with applicable law, industry standards and customer expectations."
