King Files Bill To Eliminate Texas Miscellaneous Gross Receipts Tax on Electricity

Texas State Rep. Phil King has filed a bill to repeal the Miscellaneous Gross Receipts Tax on Electricity, which is applicable in certain municipalities, and for which retail providers are responsible
The bill is HB 1228 (see bill here)
However, King told the Weatherford Democrat that the bill is unlikely to pass this session due to the difficult budget situation
