NY ESCO Enters JV To Offer Community Solar In New York

BlueRock Solar, a subsidiary of BlueRock Energy, announced a joint venture with Ithaca-based Renovus Solar, on a new community solar project in Millport, New York.

BlueRock and Renovus, will be installing 2,054 solar panels across three and a half acres to bring community solar to NYSEG delivery customers in the Southern Tier and Central New York.

The project is scheduled to be completed in Spring 2017 and will produce enough energy to power approximately 80 residential units per year.

Membership in the project will work in a "pay as you go" model whereby qualifying subscribers can sign up for a one-year contract with no credit check required. Contracts will be priced to save customers 10% on their utility bills, the companies said
