NY PSC Staff Issues Report on Natural Gas Tariff Provisions, Charges Applicable To Generators

Staff of the New York PSC has issued a report concerning natural gas tariff provisions and charges to electric generators taking natural gas service from a local distribution company, and asked for stakeholder comment on a variety of issues

Staff's report examines four key cost components in setting tariff for natural gas service to electric generators: embedded system cost component, marginal system cost component, value added charge component, and minimum bill component

Staff also noted that balancing service and firm pipeline capacity also enter into decisions concerning appropriate tariff design and charges for natural gas service to electric generators
