American Water Works Company, Inc., the largest investor-owned U.S. water and wastewater utility company, has named Eric Palm as president of American Water Resources.

American Water Resources is the company’s homeowner services business, which provides water line, sewer line and in-home plumbing emergency protection programs to 1.6 million residential customers in 43 states.

Palm joins American Water Resources from Direct Energy, where he most recently served as head of the company’s solar operations. He also led several areas of Direct's home service business that involved protection plans, operations, and a customer service call center.
