Mark Hodges, who leads Centrica's British Gas unit, recently said during an industry event that its UK Connected Home brand, Hive, will offer next year a service providing leak detection in the home.
The confirmation of the new service comes after Centrica recently acquired FlowGem Limited, an early stage UK-based business developing Internet of Things technology to remotely detect water leaks
