California Requires Retail Suppliers To Report GHG Emissions To Customers

September 27,2016

California bill AB 1110, which requires certain LSEs including competitive electric service providers and community choice aggregators to disclose greenhouse gas emissions data, has been signed by the governor

The new law requires retail suppliers to disclose GHG data to potential end-use consumers in all product-specific written promotional materials that are distributed to consumers by either printed or electronic means, including the retail supplier’s Internet web site, except that advertisements and notices in general circulation media shall not be subject to this requirement.

The disclosure requirement starts in 2020
