NRG Home is offering free weekends to residential electric customers at PECO and PPL in Pennsylvania

When predecessor NRG Residential Solutions launched, it initially offered 2¢ Sundays in the Northeast, though usage calculations were based on load profiles.

Now, NRG Home is offering an AMI-based free weekends product, with a 0¢ per kWh charge for electricity usage from 12 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday

At both PECO and PPL, the Free Weekends plan includes an energy rate of 12.89¢/kWh for non-weekend hours, fixed for 12 months

Customers may also enroll onto a natural gas plan at UGI Utilities, UGI Central Penn Gas, UGI Penn Natural Gas, and PECO with an introductory price for the first month

It is understood that NRG Home has also offered a Free Weekends plan to residential customers at ComEd, though it is unclear if the offer is still live (NRG Home's website site does list the plan when entering a ComEd zip code, but that may be due to the less-than-territory-wide deployment of AMS; offer details are still available on a specific landing page for the plan)
