The Pennsylvania PUC issued on August 23 a final order concerning its June 30, 2016 tentative order which had proposed to cancel the licenses of some 10 suppliers and brokers for alleged failure to maintain or file proof of security.
About half of the companies listed in the June 30, 2016 tentative order filed such proof of security in response to the order, and will maintain their licenses.
However, the PUC's August 23 final order states that the four brokers listed in a table have not provided the required security, and their licenses are apparently cancelled.
There appears to be an error in the order resulting from the use of a template from the most recent similar final order, in which only a single license was cancelled, as the order states, concerning the table of the four brokers whose licenses are apparently cancelled, "Below is the EGS licensee that has not provided the required security" -- which is written in the singular as if only a single licensee is being subject to cancellation (again, we believe this simply to be a drafting error)
The order also states, "The Electric Generation Service License held by the company listed in the Table 2 - Supplier Cancellation is cancelled" -- again, using the singular when the table lists four brokers.
However, out of an abundance of caution, to the extent the PUC's order does intend to cancel only the license of a single broker, and three brokers were erroneously listed in the license cancellation table, we will not excerpt the names of any brokers here.
