PURA AND OCC DATA CONFIRMS TOWN SQUARE ENERGY OFFERS THE LOWEST RESIDENTIAL PORTFOLIO PRICES IN THE CONNECTICUT ELECTRICITY MARKET
Chandler, AZ (May 3, 2016) - The Connecticut Office of Consumer Counsel’s (OCC’s) recently updated Electric Supplier Market Fact Sheet shows that only 36% of residential customers in the Eversource utility territory and 40% of the United Illuminating (UI) territory residential customers, served by retail suppliers, paid less than their utility’s Standard Offer in 2015.
Town Square Energy led all retail suppliers in the Eversource territory in customer savings as compared to the utility’s standard service offer. Combined, Town Square Energy’s Eversource and UI customers saved over $1.6 million dollars in 2015, which equates to average customer savings of $82.75 (Eversource) and $112.25 (UI) per year.
According to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) data, Town Square Energy is once again one of the fastest growing and lowest cost electricity suppliers in CT. Town Square Energy’s current Eversource portfolio price of 7.9¢, as of March 2016, is 23% lower than the competitors’ portfolio pricing and 17% below Eversource’s current Standard Offer of 9.55¢.
“We are proud of our ability to provide consistent value to our customer base. We will continue to leverage our wholesale expertise in order to earn and keep the trust of existing and new customers,” commented Randal Miller, president, Town Square Energy.
The OCC report is based on compliance filings to the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority’s Docket Number 06-10-22.
