FirstEnergy Solutions Details Customer, Volume Declines in Earnings Report

Consistent with its previously reported strategy of scaling back its competitive retail business, FirstEnergy reported declines in retail customer count and sales in reporting FY 2015 earnings.
As of December 31, 2015, FirstEnergy's competitive energy services segment reported a total number of retail customers of 1.6 million, a decrease of approximately 445,000 customers since December 31, 2014.
FirstEnergy's competitive energy services segment reported a decline of 4,200 GWh in direct medium and large C&I retail sales, a decline of 991 GWh in aggregation sales, and a decline of 848 GWh in mass market retail sales for the fourth quarter of 2015, versus the year-ago quarter
