Utility Launching New Retail Supplier

ATCO, owner of Alberta regulated delivery utilities ATCO Electric and ATCO Gas, announced the launch of a new competitive retail electricity and natural gas supplier, ATCOenergy, which will compete in the Alberta market

ATCOenergy said that it would not engage in door-to-door sales, and would offer, "transparent, no strings attached plans" as well as rewards and loyalty programs

ATCOenergy also promised the lowest administration fees in the market, with its fee set at $7

ATCO previously engaged in retail energy supply but sold its book to Direct Energy in 2004

ATCOenergy also touted the following benefits and services:

• $100 sign-up incentive credited to the first invoice for electricity and natural gas service bundle (3 or 5 year plan)

• $50 credit every year on the anniversary of sign-up for the term of the agreement for electricity and natural gas service

• No penalty cancellation

• Green electricity options

• Convenient payment options including credit card payment
