ComEd Pilots Energy Management Tool, Customers May Track, Budget Usage By Hour; Gamification

December 18,2015

Commonwealth Edison is piloting a new energy management information service to 6,500 customers.

Under the pilot, customers will have unlimited access to web and mobile applications that will allow them to budget and track the details of their energy usage by the hour, day, week or month.

They also will receive monthly communications with customizable tips on how to lower their electricity bills, and energy-efficient habit reminders such as defrosting your freezer on a regular basis in order to increase its efficiency.

In addition, by using the tool, participating customers can earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards and energy efficient products, as well as register for weekly competitions with other program participants to see who can lower their electricity consumption the most.
