During an earnings call yesterday, AEP executives said that they should have answers concerning the strategic review of the company's unregulated generation business (which includes retail supplier AEP Energy) by the end of Q1 2016, once a decision on the AEP Ohio PPA riders is rendered and the board evaluates such decision and other market conditions

Asked by an analyst whether, given the weak environment for IPPs, there would still be buyers for any AEP merchant assets should they be sold, AEP CEO Nick Akins noted the challenges, but said that there is still a set of buyers out there, though such conditions will be evaluated as AEP considers whether to sell or spin the merchant unit
