Las Vegas Casinos’ Efforts To Take Competitive Supply Makes WSJ
October 05,2015
The Wall Street Journal has published an article reviewing the attempts from several Las Vegas casinos to take competitive supply
The article does not cover much new ground (the latest development was the previously reported exit fees sought by PUC Staff reported in August ), but notes that the PUC is expected to rule on the exit requests by December
The WSJ also states that, "the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada has never granted customers permission to leave the Las Vegas utility."
While this may be true with respect to Nevada Power, the PUC has approved requests to take competitive supply (Barrick Gold, Newmont Mining) at the state's other major utility, Sierra Pacific Power (both of which now do business as NV Energy)
