Retail Supplier Says Marketing Letter With Alleged Incorrect Info on Aggregation Was Sent In Error
July 09,2015
Spark Energy said that a direct mail piece informing customers of the upcoming expiration of their municipal aggregation that was received by customers in several Chicago suburbs where aggregations are not expiring was mailed to such customers in error, the Arlington Heights (IL) Daily Herald reports
The letter had prompted officials in three municipalities to issue warnings to residents.
The letter informed customers that their aggregation program was ending in August, but the suburbs' program runs through May 2017.
According to the Daily Herald, Spark has said that the mailer was intended only for Chicago residents, where the aggregation is ending, and that the mailer was sent to suburban residents in error
