More Pennsylvania Variable Electricity Rate Reforms Likely

April 14,2014

The Allentown Morning Call considers the implications of the Pennsylvania PUC's dual-track investigation of variable rate and other customer protections.

In one proceeding, the PUC earlier this month adopted under a "final-omitted" expedited rulemaking certain changes to customer disclosure and notice rules. However, the PUC was at the same time considering variable rate issues in a separate rulemaking, with public comment due on the same date that the PUC adopted its "final-omitted" expedited rulemaking.

The Morning Call reports that:, "PUC spokeswoman Jennifer Kocher said the commission wouldn't have requested the input if it didn't intend to make use of it."

"We'll be taking further action," The Morning Call quotes Kocher as saying.
