Retail Supplier Expands Air Miles Incentives To Solar Installations
June 24,2015
NRG Home Solar is luring customers to install solar with several air miles bonus incentives, borrowing an approach employed by several of its retail supply brands
For example, NRG Home Solar offers customers the ability to earn up to 30,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles as follows:
• 5,000 miles for completing a consultation with a solar specialist
• 25,000 miles if you install solar panels on your home
According to the companies, 30,000 miles is enough for up to a round-trip ticket (plus government fees of $5.60 per one-way trip)
The AAdvantage offer is available only to AAdvantage members in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and North Carolina who are also first-time NRG Home Solar customers.
NRG Home Solar also offers a similar 30,000 incentive with United's MileagePlus.
• 5,000 miles for completing a consultation with a solar advisor
• 25,000 miles if you install solar on your home
According to the companies, 30,000 award miles is enough for a roundtrip Saver Award ticket anywhere within the 48 contiguous United States or Canada.
The disclaimer on the United MileagePlus offer page, which is older, states that the offer is available only to MileagePlus members in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, who are also first-time NRG Home Solar customers.
