PUC Denies Customer’s Request To Take Competitive Supply, Will Develop Metrics For Similar Requests

June 12,2015

The Nevada PUC has denied the application of Switch Ltd to take competitive supply, largely for the reasons identified in a draft order previously reported on by EnergyChoiceMatters.com

In short, the order finds that the time horizons for calculation of an exit fee in the Switch proceeding did not sufficiently consider long-term costs of Nevada Power.

The PUC did, however, direct that a docket be opened, "regarding the issues associated with analyzing applications filed pursuant to Chapter 704B of the Nevada Revised Statutes to ensure that approval of these applications will not be contrary to the public interest."
