Report: 77,000 Eversource MA Customers Switch to Competitive Supply Since Default Rate Spike

May 22,2015

Some 77,000 customers at Eversource in Massachusetts have switched to a competitive supplier since November, the Daily Hampshire Gazette reports in an update on legislation to refund basic service bill recalculation charges to shopping customers.

Although the Mass. DOER does publish migration stats, it does not appear that stats since the end of 2014 have been posted, so Eversource's stat is one of the few data points in how customers reacted to a significant spike in basic service rates for the winter term

The 77,000 figure is about 5.5% of Eversource's customer base, the Daily Hampshire Gazette reported.
