Electric Consumer Bill of Rights Legislation Dies, Other Protections Advance
March 19,2015
Dave Solomon in the New Hampshire Union Leader reports that New Hampshire HB 345, which would have created an electricity consumer bill of rights, has failed passage
SB 170, which includes various billing changes, is "likely to pass," Solomon reports.
Among other things, the as-filed SB 170 would require that residential electric bills list:
• Any change to such rate effective for the next billing cycle
• The default service rate
• Any termination fee
SB also requires development of a PUC-run choice website and rate board
