NRG’s Crane Slams EEI in Hill Op-Ed

February 16,2015

NRG CEO David Crane slams utility lobby EEI in a commentary published by The Hill: "Look who’s against innovation, competition and customer savings"

When Crane talks about "[i]nnovation, competition, freedom of choice, consumer savings," and bemoans the status of "captive" ratepayers, we cannot forget that NRG was seeking to impose on Texans a market design that violated all four of these cited principles, and would have created captive capacity ratepayers in the only market in the US where there truly are no captive customers.
