Say What? Northeast Utilities Exec Says "Fun" In Store Under Eversource Rebranding

February 13,2015

Attempting to dismiss specification that the rebranding of Northeast Utilities to Eversource Energy reflects an appetite for expansion beyond the Northeast, Eversource CEO Thomas May said during an earnings call that the name reflects that the company wants to be source for "all" of their customers' energy needs, and said that the company can have a lot of "fun" with the name going forward and reaching out to customers.

"Fun" is probably not what most Connecticut residents have in mind when thinking of Connecticut Light & Power, where furor over increases in flat monthly distribution fees have prompted some half a dozen bills addressing the issue.

May also said that he is a "nut" about service, and that the brand is "all about customers"

We're sure customers facing distribution rate hikes and chronic reliability problems feel the same way
