Dallas Morning News watchdog Dave Lieber published a follow-up column explaining that, if his prior "warning" to Arizona concerning electric choice, "left the impression with readers that I’m against deregulation, please let me correct the record."

Lieber's prior column was entitled, "Yo, Arizona! Don’t deregulate your electricity market like Texas unless you want games galore"

It included the phrases, "Don’t let your state regulators deregulate electricity as we did in Texas," and that, "I may have figured out why our system is so messed up. It’s built on a fraud."

Lieber said that his intent was that Arizona, "should not look to the Texas system as a gold standard to emulate."

Lieber writes, "I am for deregulation and an open electricity market that is competitive. But I’m against electricity companies who game the system, I’m angry at the Texas Public Utility Commission for letting them get away with it, and I’m frustrated with state lawmakers who won’t fix the problems."
