Virginia Senate Subcommittee Rejects Retail Energy Choice Bills

A Virginia Senate subcommittee has effectively blocked two bills which would have provided various manners of retail electric choice, the Virginia Mercury reports

Several Senators cited potential cost-shifting in rejecting the energy choice bills

The Virginia Mercury notes that while subcommittees do not take final votes, energy choice supporters do not anticipate that the energy choice bills will be taken up by the full Senate Commerce and Labor Committee
