Exelon Utilities CEO Retires Amid Investigations

October 16,2019

Exelon Corporation announced the retirement of Anne Pramaggiore, Senior Executive Vice President and CEO of Exelon Utilities, effective immediately

As previously reported, Exelon and ComEd have been served with subpoenas in two federal investigations of various politicians. Ongoing investigations may chill any appetite for potential legislative changes which may impact the retail electric market, including a capacity market carve-out

The Chicago Tribune reported that, "A source with knowledge of the investigation told the Tribune that Pramaggiore is one focus of the ongoing federal probe."

Exelon appointed Calvin G. Butler Jr., CEO of Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (“BGE”), as Interim CEO of Exelon Utilities, effective immediately. This appointment follows the retirement of Anne Pramaggiore, Senior Executive Vice President and CEO of Exelon Utilities, which is also effective immediately. Butler will continue to serve as CEO of BGE.
