Boyd Gaming Received Approval To Take Competitive Supply In Nevada

The Nevada PUC approved the application of Boyd Gaming Corporation to take competitive electricity supply and purchase energy, capacity, and/or ancillary services from a provider of new electric resources pursuant to Chapter 704B of the Nevada Revised Statutes and Chapter 704B of the Nevada Administrative Code, for various properties located in the Nevada Power Company's d/b/a NV Energy, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (story here)

A written copy of a final order was not immediately available

Should Boyd proceed with its exit, it will be subject to an exit fee of about $10.7 million, on a net present value basis

Boyd has selected Tenaska Power Services Co. as its provider
