More Large Customers To Remain With NV Energy For Supply; Alternative Pricing Program Debated

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) will withdraw its application at the Nevada PUC to take competitive electric supply as it reached a 5-year energy services agreement with NV Energy
Separately, Golden Entertainment announced that it reached an agreement with NV Energy for Golden Entertainment to remain on fully-bundled electric service from the utility
Separately, Staffers at the Nevada PUC have filed comments stating that NV Energy's Optional Pricing Program Rate would result in higher costs to other customers, The Nevada Independent reports
According to The Nevada Independent, a PUC Staffer projected that the program would shift $4.2 million in cost to other customers, and if the program was open to all eligible customers (no participation cap), the projected cost shift is $17 million annually
The state's Bureau of Consumer Protection also filed testimony citing negative ratepayer impacts from the program
