The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission has released a preliminary report from City Staff concerning a potential municipalization of Pacific Gas & Electric's assets in the City of San Francisco.
The report states, "The preliminary findings support acquisition of PG&E electric assets serving San Francisco due to likely outcomes such as durable and long-term cost savings; timely and cost-efficient modernization of the electrical grid; and meeting the City’s priorities on affordability, clean energy, safety, reliability, workforce development and equity. The City has the ability and intention to undertake such acquisition work with maximum community engagement and accountability."
