May 07,2019
Sunnova Energy Corporation announced that it will be offering solar plus battery storage to homeowners in New Jersey for the first time.
Sunnova has begun offering its Sunnova SunSafe Easy Own 25-year solar plus battery storage service to new customers in New Jersey through its regional dealer network. Sunnova will also be offering its 10-year Sunnova +SunSafe add-on battery storage service offering to any homeowner with an existing home solar system.
In addition, Sunnova also announced that it has begun offering its Sunnova +SunSafe add-on battery storage offering to existing Sunnova customers and non-Sunnova solar homes across three independently owned California utilities, Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E), San Diego Gas and Electric (SDGE) and Southern California Edison (SCE).
In addition to providing back-up power when the grid goes down, in California, Sunnova said that the Sunnova SunSafe system also provides protection from peak utility rates. Intelligent control technology within the system automatically manages the flow of energy between the solar energy system, the battery, the home and the electric grid. This helps protect homeowners from high utility rates when utilizing a time-of-use utility rate plan, the company said
Sunnova now offers Sunnova SunSafe in 12 U.S. states and territories, including New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, Puerto Rico, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, California, Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.
