Florida Competition Advocate: Energy Choice Is Not The Same As Deregulation

April 18,2019

The Tallahassee Democrat published an op-ed from Alex Patton, chairperson of Citizens for Energy Choices, who was responding to a recent op-ed from an opponent of electric choice in Florida

Patton noted that, "The United States Chamber of Commerce recently released a study showing that Florida has the highest energy costs in the Southeast and Florida is considerably higher than Texas. In fact, in Texas, a consumer can purchase a power plan comprised of 100% renewable energy cheaper than anything offered currently in Florida."
